Keeping Up With MPO is a Competitive Advantage

Are you installing more MPO today?

If you answered yes, you need to know that there are purpose-built tools for inspecting and testing MPO. If you aren’t using them, you risk doing extra work that takes extra time to replace bad cables. It could even cost you business if your jobs take longer or the customer isn’t happy.

In this paper “Winning with MPO Testing”, you will learn about common MPO architectures and how to test them, why dirty end-faces matter, the benefits of purpose-built MPO tools, and much more.

What is an MPO?

In the telecommunications industry, MPO typically refers to “Multiple-Fiber Push-On/Pull-off” connectors.

MPO connectors are a type of fiber optic connector that can accommodate multiple fibers within a single connector. They are commonly used in high-speed data transmission applications, such as data centers, because they can provide a high-density and reliable connection for multiple fibers.

MPO connectors can have up to 12 fibers in a single connector, and they can be used for both single-mode and multimode fibers. They use a push-pull latching mechanism for easy insertion and removal of the connector. MPO connectors are typically used with MTP cables, which are multi-fiber cables with an MPO connector on each end.
