Description

This course is designed to help you understand Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification (DOCSIS) called DOCSIS 3.1, which is used to deliver high-speed internet. This new version promises to provide very fast download speeds of up to 10 gigabits per second. This is made possible by a new design that improves the way data is transmitted over the cables.

However, in order to fully take advantage of these high speeds, the existing network infrastructure needs to be upgraded. Specifically, the course will teach you about the changes needed in a network called Hybrid Fiber-Coaxial (HFC) to support DOCSIS 3.1.

The course will provide a deeper understanding of how the new technology works and its impact on the network. It will also cover the potential speeds that can be achieved with DOCSIS 3.1, based on the characteristics of the network.
