Analog CCTV Video Media Converter

J/VD Series

Transition Networks has a device called J/VD-TX-01 that can take a video signal from a CCTV camera and change it into a signal that can be sent over a fiber-optic cable, which can travel up to 10 km away. They also have another device called J/VD-RX-01 which can take the signal back from the fiber-optic cable and change it back into the original video signal. The whole process happens in real-time and it has a feature called Automatic gain control, which helps keep the video quality clear and bright over long distances. No need for any adjustments, and this device can also work with various power sources including CCTV camera power supply. To make sure that the video quality stays the best, it is recommended to use both devices at both ends of the connection.

In August 2021, Transition Networks was acquired by Lantronix Inc. The products of Transition Networks will continue to be available from CoverTel as usual. Logo change of products from Transition Networks to Lantronix will be done progressively.

Description

Analog CCTV Video Media Converter
J/VD Series

Transition Networks’ J/VD-TX-01 is an analog composite video media transmitter that allows CCTV signals from cameras to be converted into a single strand of multimode or single mode fiber for transmission over long distances, up to 10 km. This device is designed to convert the CCTV signal from the camera into an optical signal that can be sent over a fiber-optic cable. It can work with both multimode and single mode fiber, giving the user more flexibility in their network setup.

The J/VD-RX-01 is an analog video media receiver that is used in conjunction with the J/VD-TX-01 transmitter. It converts the optical signal back into an analog composite video signal, allowing the video signal to be used by other devices. The receiver is able to perform this conversion in real-time, ensuring that the video signal is not delayed or distorted during transmission.

To ensure that the video signal maintains its quality over long distances, both the transmitter and receiver are equipped with Automatic gain control (AGC). AGC is a feature that automatically adjusts the video signal’s contrast and brightness to maintain a consistent level of quality. This means that no field adjustments are necessary, making it easy to set up and use.

The J/VD-TX-01 and J/VD-RX-01 also have a wide input range power supply, which allows for multiple choices of power source, including camera power supply. This means that the devices can be powered by the same power source as the camera, making it easier to install and set up.

Transition Networks recommends that both the transmitter and receiver be used at both ends of the link to assure best quality. This is because both devices have been specifically designed and tested to work together, and using both ensures that the signal is transmitted and received with the best possible quality.
