OSA 5548c Synchronization Supply Unit (SSU)

SONET/SDH network synchronization solution

The OSA 5548c Synchronization Supply Unit (SSU) is a scalable synchronization solution from Oscilloquartz. By adding up to four expansion shelves to the core unit, it can accommodate up to a thousand protected outputs. It is ideal for telecom operators looking to provide scalable network synchronization in overcrowded exchanges because of its ultra-compact footprint. By utilizing the distributed intelligence message passing system of the OSA 5548C SSU, there are no single points of failure and reliable uptime is guaranteed. Sharing the same modules on the core unit and expansion shelves means the administrative complexity is minimized and homologation requirements are reduced.

In June 2023, ADVA Optical Networking SE has officially changed its name to Adtran Networks SE. The products of ADVA will continue to be available from CoverTel as usual. Logo change of products from ADVA to Adtran will be done progressively.

Description

OSA 5548c Synchronization Supply Unit (SSU)

The OSA 5548C Synchronization Supply Unit (SSU) from Oscilloquartz, an ADVA Optical Networking Company, is ideal for today’s demanding timing distribution requirements. A wide range of input signals can be accepted by the universal input cards, reducing the need for spare parts. In addition, it’s fully covered by ADVA’s network management software, providing powerful fault, configuration, inventory, performance and security management through an intuitive graphical user interface (GUI) either locally or from a remote location. The OSA 5548c SSU delivers constant measurement of sync quality and triggers alarms when limits are exceeded. All results are forwarded to the network management software for display, user validation and storage.
